Frequently Asked Questions
For Your Information
Here are some frequently asked questions that I tend to receive. If you still have something you’d like to know, feel free to contact me for more details and I will do my best to help you get all the information you need.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a structured conversation between Coach and Client, used as a tool to empower individuals and help them reach their goals. In a session, I will be alongside you to uncover and work towards your ultimate goals and aspirations. I will listen, ask questions, and share observations to explore your challenges and inspire you to reach your goals.
You will always be in the driving seat to make decisions and take responsibility for what happens next.
What Coaching isn't?
Coaching isn't about me giving you suggestions or advice. Nor is it therapy or counselling. If we start a Coaching relationship and find that it isn't the right thing for you right now, we'll discuss this to find the right way forward for you.
What will happen in a Coaching session?
Coaching sessions will usually be 60 minutes via Zoom, but we can discuss the option to have longer or face to face sessions where appropriate. The time and space in a Coaching call are completely yours. Ideally, you would arrive at each session with something you want to focus on - something you want to feel differently about, something you want the space to work through to understand yourself (or the situation) better or something you want to make a plan to change. I will manage the timing of the session to make sure you get full value.
Who else will know what has been said?
All coaching sessions are completely confidential and, as a trainee, I am bound by the ICF Code of Ethics. In line with this, there are very limited circumstances where confidentiality would be broken - for example, where there was an intent to cause harm to yourself or others or criminal acts.
What do you, as the Coach, need from me?
To make the most of the Coaching time, it would be great if you can come to the session fully prepared and with a goal or aspiration in mind that you would like to work towards. I would encourage you to spend 15 minutes before the session to get comfortable in a space and environment where you won't be disturbed. It's a great idea to have a drink and a pen and paper to hand and anything else (like a diary) that might be useful. Take the time to get yourself into a good headspace and relax ready for the session.
How can I start working with you?
Drop me an email or book a discovery call here. The call is to see how we gel and have a first look at where you are and where you want to be before briefly talking about how I could help. I actively discourage anyone from booking whilst on the call, but happy to talk about availability and what works if you want to.
After our initial call, I will send more information to you and if you decide to sign up to a Coaching package, I will send a contract and invoice before booking in our first session. Then the fun really starts.
